I failed a drug test...I haven't smooked weed since I was 16 I am 30 now.How is this possible?

I just applied for a job got offered it pending drug screen. Okay i'm fine i haven't smoked weed since i was 16 and the test came out positive for weed and merilona or something given to cancer patients. I need help understanding what happened, why did I test positive for things I have never done. and the weed since 16. Someone please help me.

Have you been around anyone who was smoking it? Just being in the house or room where it is being smoked will cause you to have a positive result.

If that's a no - are you on any prescription meds that may have interfered with the results of your test? Have you eaten one too many poppy seed muffins recently?

I don't know the answer to your question for sure, but if you know it's none of the possibilities I've mentioned, or that others will mention, call your physician and ask.

You should demand a re.test. The lab workers may have accidentally switched your sample with someone else.

Did you have a poppy seed muffin lately? Elaine (from Seinfeld) was failing drug tests because she was eating poppy seed muffins. Poppy seeds contain opium. Hope that helps... :)

COuld they have gotten your results mixed with someone else's? Ask them if you can take it again.

Also - poppy seeds with give you a positive for drugs - so if you had a bagel or something with poppy seeds in it, that might trigger a positive test.

Also have you taken anything with codine in it? Sleeping medication?

i'd get retested. i think somebody screwed up on the test. was it a piss test or hair sample? dope can show up in your hair 7 yrs later. it can get stored in your fat cells and be released later.

Well there are things that has to be considered like for example if you are taking medicines that has a relative chemical composition same as in the tetrahydrocannabinol (marijuana). Also it is subjected for confirmatory or it has to be challenged. What I mean is that there is a chance that there was a mistake in the testing procedures because most of the time the laboratory is using testing kits for the examine and maybe the specimen you submitted to them is tampered. There are lots of things to consider but I just listed the most common errors that some laboratories go through. Hope this helps.
