Hi! I'm trying to think -- I saw this on a show once. I thought it was called "crush meds" (given when someone's leg is trapped under a rock, for example, so that their body is not poisoned by the trapped bacteria/waste that accumulates in the crushed limb(s)), but I have found nothing of the sort online. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If so, can you provide some info/a name of it/anything?! Thanks! I"ll pick a best answer tonight!

Yes, there is such a condition. In first aid classes we were told to give the victim baking soda dissolved in water to help neutralize some of the toxins. There are other, more sophisticated medicines, but baking soda is one that is common, and easy to obtain.
